Pilgrimage by Ekaterina Solovieva

A month ago, we published Pilgrimage (ПАЛОМНИКИ), a limited edition photozine in black and white about, yeah..., a pilgrimage. The report and the tracking of all the journeys were made, with a lot of patience, by Ekaterina Solovieva.

Ekaterina Solovieva is from Moscow (Москва́), and after graduating as a journalist at the University of Moscow, he moved to Hamburg, were she stills working with its greatest passion: photography.

You can find ПАЛОМНИКИ at Fatbottombooks, and soon in other bookstores. We are also going to have it at Arts Libris Zine & Artbook fair in Barcelona (if this is the case, mail us so we can keep it for you!). For future information, stay in touch at our twitter and facebook accounts!

Alongside the show, there will be a variety of events at the venue in collaboration with TIP, Japanese publishing houses, and local photographers. The best way to get in touch with everything is following the Photobookshow twitter or Tumblr accounts.

Capitalismo Barbarie and other fanzines at the Fatbottom bookstore in Barcelona

The exhibition has been possible thanks to the work of the Photobookshow and the TIP (Tokyo Institute of Photography), the Photobookshow is a Brighton-based arts organisation, set up in 2011 by William Sadowski and Kevin Beck to raise the profile of artist-led photobooks.

The Photobookshow aims to hold several exhibitions a year, alongside talks and workshops. The Tokyo exhibition comes after a recent exhibition in Malmö, at the Vasli Sousa (first weeks of February) and paves the way for the next great exhibition G Photobook show in Brighton (England) from the 6 to the 15 of June at the One Eyed Jacks Gallery.

Zines of the Zone: Barcelona

The CFD hall

Ana Zaragoza García photobook "La famille poirot 1", we love it!

Yep, so Tuesday we made a short visit to the Zines of the zone event in CFD (Creació de Fotografía Documental) in Barcelona, organized with the Photobook Club Barcelona. We couldn't stay in the they did, but we take a look at the collection and we can guarantee that it's a valuable treasure.

We had the chance to have a look at the Booklet version of "Stories" named "Afterword".

I hope the next city on the tour: Vevey, Switzerland (you can see the full list here), can enjoy our photozines and collage zines, because we left a good pile.

New zines! February 2014

Oh! We have new stuff! Some of them were already on the website, but now you can buy them here. The first one was "No saquen las flores" from Pere Saguer and you can have a preview here. The second photozine is our first publication from Irene Serrano, a young photographer from Barcelona and addicted to party.

2pm 6am by Irene Serrano Robredo

The zine has to be seen as a full summer carefree day. And with the nice sunny weather. But we are not very fans of sunny weather, truly.

Glorious Youth!

People, afterparty on Barcelona subway.

Tenderete 7: photos

So, two long weeks after Tenderete 7, and here we go again: Thanks to all we meet there! Specially to Maria Lorente and his "Técnicas contra la desaparición".

This was our desk. Big and comfortable.

Here one of our neighbours: Bill Noir (Mékanik Copulaire) and his fantastic collage stuff.

And on the other side, Pau Valls and Arròs Negre fanzine.

We can't forget the fantastic music and radio programs during the festival.

We couldn't leave València without eating some bravas near the Central Market

Tenderete 7

And yes, tomorrow we move again to València where the Vendo Oro colective organized again the Tenderete Festival. Perhaps the earliest zine comic festival of the year? The festival is going to take place at La Llimera, at Carrer Pérez Escrich nº13 the 4th and 5th of January.

Poster for the festival: tenderete-7 / 4 & 5 January 2014

We are gonig to have two new photozines: No saquen las flores from Pere Saguer and 2pm6am from Irene Serrano, both of them in full colour! And as usual, some music from Orgonomy Records.

"Capitalismo Barbarie" by Carles Palacio, "Caravan" by Robert Roura",
"No saquen las flores" and "Christopher discovered america by mistake" by Pere Saguer

For this edition of Tenderete, Martin is working on a "small press map" of spanish publishers and HERE are our answers (in spanish). The questionnaire is inspired in Anna Ehrlemark and Fijuk team "Small Press Map" project, with the aim of creating a map of European independent graphic scene.

"Christopher dicovered america by mistake" (second edition) and "No saquen las flores" both of them by Pere Saguer
