Parada Zero / Ex Abrupto

Vic is a interesting city. Or town. Let’s call it a interesting village with a nice music scene. This year, the village is the Capital of the Catalan Culture and for this reason, ACVic Centre d’Arts Contemporànies, Escola d’Art i Superior de Disseny de Vic, Exartvic de l’EASD de Vic, Museu Episcopal i Museu de L’Art de la Pell are making a festival, the first edition of Parada Zero.

Ex Abrupto, are going to take part of this event with some activities at the palace where Antoni Maria Claret stayed some years. Specially, Saturday 28 of May from 12:00 to 23:00 when a collective exhibition of 24 artists. Near the house, at the Students Square (Plaça de lÉstudiant), is going to take place the DIY market with selfpublished stuff by Lentejas Press, Autonoise, Marc O'Callagan, Hola Ediciones, Bad Weather Press, "Convertidoras, tripas y mallas", Do The Print, Adolfo Press, Alba Feito and Marcel & Ralf.

Bidimensionales: photozine & selfpublishing fair 2016

Tuesday 5th January we are going to be at the first edition of Bidimensionales (Bidimensionals), a photobook and selfpublishing fair organized by Tiedaderecha, a srtange gallery in Barcelona. You will find all our available stuff (and maybe a «winter present») and nice printed material from our friends: Do the Print, Lindero Libros and TD Papeles.

The fair is focused mainly in photobooks and graphic publications, o related to this themes in a experimental and interdisciplinar perspective. You can come and have a vermouth at 10 o’clock or whenever you want untill 21 o’clock. There is going to be nice music, WiFi and lots of printed stuff. The entrance is FREE!

GRAF 2015 (photos)

Last weekend (22 and 23 of May), took place at Fabra i Coats: the GRAF, a independent comic fair with a huge representation of the comic scene in Barcelona and surroundings. The fair, took place at the old factory of Sant Andreu, a old town (now-days, a Barcelona neighbourhood).

We presented three new zines: No Wave by Darryl Reid, Hit me on by Brojjol and Onion rings by Pere Saguer. Soon, all this zines available on the Bad Weather Press website.

Gutter Fest 2015

One year more, GUTTER FEST is going to take place at Hangar, a multidisciplinary space for arts and culture located in Poblenou neighbourhood. The fair, opens at 16:00h on Friday 8 and continues with a talk by Carles GOD and his “Projecte Úter” (a amazing big drawing full of details) and then, with some music by Tom Hagan, Chili Greens, Magnetics, Iepi & Cadena.

Saturday is a nice option if you can only come in the morning, at 11 o’clock we are going to be there selling photozines, comics and our last limited edition silkscreen by Marc Montaña titled Darkmao. Clara and Julia are going to offer the first activity of the day with Pin Tam Pon, a “kids activity”… but don’t trust it, for me is a all ages activity.

At 13:00 is the “cinema time”, different national and international short animated films are going to be shown together with a DIY documental from CRAK! festival. The day continues with a silkscreen workshop and, at 18:30, a round table with Alejandro Álvarez (Fanzinelogía), Martín Lopez Lam (Ediciones Valientes) and Johanna Marcadé (Nobo Doba / Turbo Comix).

Sunday music is going to be in charge, since 16:00 o´clock by Ubaldo, Vidus, Kalashinkoff, Juventud Infinita and Familea Miranda. The festival is going to close with a special lottery of self-published stuff. The lucky numbers can be purchased on the fair. Very cheap, the entrance is FREE.

Autoedita o Muere

This saturday 14, in Barcelona, first edition of the festival Autoedita o muere (Selfpublish or die). There will be a space, but not for sale only to exchange. We are going to have some of our publications. How?: Change your material for tickets and this with other types of stuff: printing, fanzines, photos, t-shirts ... all kind of self-published material.

Saturday. From 12:00 to 16:00. Sant Pere Més Baix street number 70 (on the back of Casal del Pou de la Figuera). Free.

Looks like at least, something interesting is going to move in Barcelona. In the same dates of the big commercial and not-very-friendly Comic-Con "Saló del Còmic" there would be, in the opisite side of Barcelona, a alternative exhibition about comics and self-published stuff. At the same time, the memebers of GRAF, have prepared a nice timetable to make more interestig the more than 12h of the exhibition:

11:00 to 13:00h Authors and publishers meeting.

17:00 to 18:00h International comic. Discussion table sorrounding the artistic exchange between countries. Participants: Max, Irkus M.Zeberio, Colectivo Misma. Moderates: Gerardo Vilches.

18:00 to 19:00h Selfpublished comics. Discussion table about printing or digital selfpublications? Particiapnts: Clara Soriano, Andrés Palomino, Fanzine Armadillo, Nico Fatbottom and Alba Diethelm. Moderates: Iñaki Sanz.

19:00 to 20:00h Unruly media. Discussion table about the feedback between bulleted, frames, literature and journalism. Participants: Manel Fontdevila, Carlos de Diego, Carlo Padial and Darío Adanti. Moderates: Alberto García.

20:00 to 21:00h Comic, society and Pop culture. Discussion table arround the comic implication in social events here and today. Participants: Eloy Fernández Porta y Rubén Lardín. Moderates: Daniel Ausente.

21:00 to 22:00h Comic Videoplaylist. An hour downloading 24 bullets per second. Screening of videos related with bullets, comented by Raúl Minchinela.

22:00 to 23:00h Audiovisual creations made by people vinculated on cartoons. Los Pioneros del siglo XXI, Carlos Vermut, Nestor F, Manuel Bartual, Venga Monjas and Mauro Entrialgo.

23:00h Screening of the documental "Ralf König, king of comics" (Rosa von Praunheim, 2012).
