Gutter Fest 4

FRIDAY! Yes, this friday 20 and saturday 21 of May is the Gutter Fest weekend. One of the most interesting festivals in south Europe. One of them? No! The best one. Here, click for the participants list.

At 16:00 on friday the doors of Nau Bostik (Carrer Ferran Turné 11) will open (notice is a different place from the past editions!) in La Segrera (Barcelona). It's going to be very sunny. So sunny that for the ocasion, Pere Saguer is going to present two new zines: Japan, a small photobook diary and ¡Ah!...¡Malditos! a colaborative zine with the collage artist Gabri Guerrero. Both of them in a small edition of 50. Come at our stand or at "La China"'s.

Bad Weather Press on the Archive Artist Publi­ca­ti­ons / The Collec­tion Hubert Kret­sch­mer

Really happy to find this today on the Internet. Very surprised.

Since 1980 Hubert Kret­sch­mer has collec­ted, archi­ved and docu­men­ted artist publi­ca­ti­ons for his archive artist publi­ca­ti­ons: news­pa­pers, fly­ers, artist books, zines, mul­ti­ples, pos­ters and many more. This Inde­pen­dent Archive Pro­ject was foun­ded in Munich by the publis­her, artist and art edu­ca­tor Hubert Kret­sch­mer. In the mean­time the collec­tion com­pri­ses some 10,000 items, about 13,000 of which can be rese­ar­ched with a publi­cly acces­si­ble inter­net cata­lo­gue... (continue on the website).

F.L.I.A. is back! (2015)

FLIA is back! If you are in Barcelona, or you don’t know what to do: This saturday (3 October, 2015) is going to take place the third edition of the FLIA festival (Independent selfpublished book fair, from the catalan Fira del llibre independent autoeditat). The fair takes place at Sóller square (Plaça Sóller) at the Porta neighbourhood in Nou Barris (Barcelona). You can get there by Metro and stop at Virrei Amat (L5) or Llucmajor (L4), all them, about 5 minutes walking.

For this edition they are plenty of activities, starting at 10:00 o’clock with the Pin Tam Pon workshop, followed by a first talk by KurdisCat (12:00h) and another about Porta neighbourhood (…means Door. :P) at 13:30.

You can have you lunch or/and drinks at the bar. There is going to be one there open all day (during the fair hours) with beers and home made food. Delicious! At the afternoon two talks are going to close the festival, a first one about the #MACBAgate La Bestia y el repartidor de butano and a last one, presenting La Polilla, a occupied kiosk at the Revolution square at Vila de Gràcia.

This are the activities, but of course, the main purpose is the zine and book fair is the hundred of tables showcasing the best printed stuff. Bad Weather press we are going to be there with the last three new publications: the “No Wave” photozine by Darry Reid and two comic / illustration zines, “Hit me on” by the Indonesian artist Brojjol and “Onion Rings” by Pere Saguer. We are going to have some left copies from other publications and we are looking forward for a special present for the occasion. Want to know what? Just come, say hi and you'll know. GRAF 2015 (photos)

Last weekend (22 and 23 of May), took place at Fabra i Coats: the GRAF, a independent comic fair with a huge representation of the comic scene in Barcelona and surroundings. The fair, took place at the old factory of Sant Andreu, a old town (now-days, a Barcelona neighbourhood).

We presented three new zines: No Wave by Darryl Reid, Hit me on by Brojjol and Onion rings by Pere Saguer. Soon, all this zines available on the Bad Weather Press website.

Catacrack by Pere Saguer

Last month, Pere Saguer published El confort dels estranys, a 210mm per 297mm collage zine in full colour explained on Pere's blog. This April, we present another collage zine: Catacrack.

With lots of red, and some erotic cuts from asian films and american adult magazines this collage zine is the most personal, including also some drawings by hand and scribbles which remains Cy Twombly's work. Specially the paintigs from 1960 to 70, see here.

Vancouver Art Book Fair review 2014

Two weeks ago we were at the Vancouver Art/Book Fair, a event produced by Project Space that has completely consolidated as the most interesting fair on the NW Pacific coast.

Last year, we sent some photozines and this year, some of you could see them exhibited in one of the Vancouver Art Gallery floors, exactly at the New Understandings of Space. But we weren't satisfied, so this year we decided to go with all the available material (specially new stuff) and say hi to all the people in Vancouver! Here a photographic resume of the three days of exhibition.

Tenderete 7

And yes, tomorrow we move again to València where the Vendo Oro colective organized again the Tenderete Festival. Perhaps the earliest zine comic festival of the year? The festival is going to take place at La Llimera, at Carrer Pérez Escrich nº13 the 4th and 5th of January.

We are gonig to have two new photozines: No saquen las flores from Pere Saguer and 2pm6am from Irene Serrano, both of them in full colour! And as usual, some music from Orgonomy Records.

For this edition of Tenderete, Martin is working on a "small press map" of spanish publishers and HERE are our answers (in spanish). The questionnaire is inspired in Anna Ehrlemark and Fijuk team "Small Press Map" project, with the aim of creating a map of European independent graphic scene.

FLIA 2013: Photographs

Nearly a month later (better than never, no?) we share some photographs we took at the FLIA this year at Vallcarca neighborhood in Barcelona.

Early in the morning, with the two new fanzines: Internet Romance by Sergi Serra on the left, Capitalismo Barbarie by Carles Palacio in the middle and the last Manhattan by Pere Saguer on the right.

People came in the afternoon, after the hangover.

Sergi Serra had a very great idea promoting his last fanzine and the first published with us. Cacaolat is one of the best chocolate drinks in the world, like the zine, which includes digital art, webcam beauties and Internet paleontology. (Ok, yes, Moritz beer is very good too).

Manhattan & Agno3

A few weeks ago we launched two new titles! Horray!

The small one is "Manhattan" a new 24 page photozine from Pere Saguer with pics from Manhattan taken with a iPhone 4. We made 50 copies, and if you can't go to the fairs we go, you can buy it here.

The yellow one, is a new photographer from Girona: Carles Palacio, he has been working in lots of different kind of photographs but never selfpublished a small run project. "Agno3" is the name of this first project and we ONLY have 25 copies, so maybe you need to clic here now for one.
