Photo Book Day & És_Festival

Today is #PhotoBookDay, and this year we are too busy to plan something cool, but don't worry, Saturday we are going to be at Carrer Vic in Barcelona, where, all along the street there will be desks full of self-made stuff. The És_Festival is curated by Somos Emperador, a four young artist collective from Barcelona.

If you want some information of the Photo Book Day, you can click here and go to the website. Find on the map you nearest event and go there. Our friends from Photobook Club Barcelona, Photobook Club Girona and Photobook Club Madrid are doing things, if you are near, ho there!

But! THAT'S not all. Stay tuned because today night we will have a next photozine called "In Heaven". A nice publication from the young photographer Reginald Levy.

Fun Fan Fest (photos)

This Saturday took place the first edition of Fun Fan Fest at Boca Nord, a young center (with a gym on the 2nd floor) for the people of El Carmel neighbourhood. The place was really friendly so, despite it rained a little bit on the morning, in general, the experience was really good. People had the chance to watch (touch) the original collage book "El confort dels estranys" by Pere Saguer, the last zine we have published.

Really surprised of the amount of artwork (graffiti) that fills outside and inside the building

Our desk! We are sad to inform we no longer will be available to bring the Slovakia flag. :(

During the fair, there was a collective zine. Here Monostereo printing the covers.

And the last. A interesting conversation between Enrique (left) from TD papeles & Pere Saguer (right)

FLIA 2014: brief description.

The last October was eventful. The same weekend we were at the Vancouver Art/Book Fair, we were also at the second edition of FLIA. (See pictures of the last year here.)

The desk. With a flag from Slovakia as a tablecloth.

It was a very warm day, but thanks to the good faith of the girls from Lindero Libros (Noe Lavado and Helena Rovira) we could manage to fit under a sunshade. On the other side of the table we were nicely accompanied by Ignacio Navas, who was selling his last photozine «Yolanda». An amazing publication.

The girls that handdle Lindero Libros.

Overall, considering all the publishers who came and the people who attended the event, we think it’s right to think that FLIA has already become one of the major fairs to consider in the world of self-publishing.

(On the right) Irkus, the ambassador of Fatbottom.

(with a cup of coffee) Edu, from Adolfo Press.

Tropèl and his "tunning carriage".

And yes, there was some cool street music too. Thanks to all who made it possible.

Tenderete 7

And yes, tomorrow we move again to València where the Vendo Oro colective organized again the Tenderete Festival. Perhaps the earliest zine comic festival of the year? The festival is going to take place at La Llimera, at Carrer Pérez Escrich nº13 the 4th and 5th of January.

Poster for the festival: tenderete-7 / 4 & 5 January 2014

We are gonig to have two new photozines: No saquen las flores from Pere Saguer and 2pm6am from Irene Serrano, both of them in full colour! And as usual, some music from Orgonomy Records.

"No saquen las flores" and "Christopher discovered america by mistake" by Pere Saguer

For this edition of Tenderete, Martin is working on a "small press map" of spanish publishers and HERE are our answers (in spanish). The questionnaire is inspired in Anna Ehrlemark and Fijuk team "Small Press Map" project, with the aim of creating a map of European independent graphic scene.

"Christopher dicovered america by mistake" (second edition) and "No saquen las flores" both of them by Pere Saguer
